Brian Monihan is a veteran sports media leader who has nearly four decades of sales and management experience, including nearly 30 years as an executive in the Philadelphia region.
From 2009 to 2023, Brian served as president and general manager of NBC Sports Philadelphia, a Comcast NBCUniversal network and official partner of the Philadelphia Eagles (NFL), Flyers (NHL), Phillies (MLB), 76ers (NBA) and Wings (NLL). In this role, he oversaw all aspects of the region’s sports media leader, including content, sales, production, finance and marketing. Brian also led the network’s team partnerships, including media rights management and negotiations. Throughout his tenure with Comcast and NBC Sports Philadelphia, he led the network’s evolution from a cable television network into a comprehensive multiplatform sports entertainment organization and one of the most-watched regional sports networks in the nation.
Previously, Brian spent nearly nine years as Vice President of Sales for Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment management company owned by Comcast Corporation and seven years as a sales executive with PHL 17 (WPHL-TV). He is a graduate of Boston College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history and communications.
Brian resides in New Jersey with his family and is an active member of the community, serving as a longtime board member for Special Olympics Pennsylvania, the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Advertising Club.
