In his March 27, 2023 article titled It’s A Philly Thing, Bret McCormick reported that HBSE’s Sixers are making considerations for their long-term home and potential for their own building just as Comcast Spectacor and the Flyers near completion of the expansive upgrades at the Wells Fargo Center.

“The city of New York can handle two arenas. I question whether or not the city of Philadelphia can truly support two arenas to the level that they need to be supported. They’re going to be competing for the same shows, and I think advertisers are going to have to make a choice.”
